2. Who We Are
This Privacy Policy applies to Screen Recorder - Rec Video and to the information processed when you download, install, access, purchase, subscribe to, or use the App. Contact details are provided in the "Contact Us" section below.
3. Summary of Our Data Practices
- We do not require in-app account registration by default.

- We do not automatically upload your recorded videos, photos, audio files, GIFs, or editing projects.
- Subscription purchases are processed by Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
- We do not collect or store your full payment card number, bank account details, or app store account password.
- We may process feedback, limited diagnostic information, anonymous app identifiers, subscription entitlement information, and device/app information when you actively use support or subscription features.
- We do not use advertising SDKs, personalized advertising SDKs, IDFA/AAID tracking SDKs, AI processing services, cloud sync, or account-login services based on the current product analysis.
- We do not sell your personal information in the traditional sense.
4. Information We May Collect
4.1 Information You Provide to Us
We may collect information that you voluntarily provide, including:
- support requests, feedback, bug reports, or messages you send to us;
- your email address if you choose to include it in feedback or contact us by email;
- titles, descriptions, screenshots, logs, files, or diagnostic details you choose to provide for support purposes.
4.2 Screen Recording, Camera, Audio, and Media Content
When you initiate recording or editing features, the App may process:
- screen-visible content captured through operating-system screen recording APIs;
- microphone audio if you choose microphone or mixed audio recording;
- Android system audio where supported and enabled;
- front camera picture-in-picture, FaceCam, or reaction recording video if you enable camera features;
- touch indicators and recording settings you choose;
- videos, images, GIFs, audio exports, thumbnails, file names, file paths, size, duration, resolution, creation time, and temporary processing files.
This content is processed to record, edit, merge, compress, convert, export, save, play, rename, delete, or share your media. It is stored locally by default and is not automatically uploaded by us.
4.3 App Usage and Device Information
For support, registration reporting, subscription reporting, security, troubleshooting, and service reliability, we may process technical information such as:
- app-generated anonymous user ID and session ID;
- device type, device model, operating system version, screen size, app version, language, locale, and time zone;
- feature events or page/event payloads where enabled;
- subscription reporting fields such as product ID, origin transaction ID, original purchase time, device platform, locale, and time zone;
- network request headers needed for feedback, registration, or subscription reporting.
4.4 Subscription and Purchase Information
If you purchase or restore a subscription or other in-app purchase, we may receive or process limited purchase-related information from Apple, Google, or platform APIs, including:
- product identifier;
- subscription status and entitlement status;
- purchase date, renewal date, expiration date, cancellation status, refund status, billing issue status, trial status, promotional offer status, or grace period status;
- transaction identifier, original transaction identifier, order identifier, purchase token, or receipt data;
- platform type, country or region, storefront, currency, and app version.
We do not receive your full payment card number, bank account details, Apple Account password, or Google Account password.
4.5 Local App Data
Local app data may include:
- recording settings such as resolution, frame rate, bitrate, audio mode, countdown, orientation, touch display, save location, and watermark settings;
- user-generated recordings, imported media, exported files, thumbnails, cache, and temporary processing files;
- private vault files and vault metadata;
- anonymous user ID, VIP status, purchase history fields, local settings, and feature preferences;
- failed event cache files where remote event reporting is disabled or unavailable.
Deleting the App, clearing app data, changing devices, device failure, or system cleanup may delete local app data.
4.6 Private Vault Data
The App may provide a local private vault. Vault information may include password salt, password hash, biometric unlock setting, failed-attempt count, lockout time, local vault files, and vault metadata. Passwords are not stored in plain text. Biometric authentication is handled by the device operating system; we do not receive or store raw biometric data.
5. Device Permissions Checklist
The App may request device permissions only when needed for specific features.
5.1 Notifications Permission
Notifications may be used to show ongoing recording status, foreground-service notices, recording progress, or app-related alerts. You can disable notifications in your device settings.
5.2 Photos, Media, or Photo Library Permission
Photos, media, or photo library access may be used to import, select, save, export, edit, browse, or manage user-selected images, videos, audio, GIFs, and files. We access only the content you select or the permission scope you grant.
5.3 Camera Permission
Camera access may be used for front camera picture-in-picture, FaceCam, or reaction recording features that you actively enable.
5.4 Microphone Permission
Microphone access may be used to record microphone audio when you choose microphone or mixed audio recording. Microphone audio may be combined into your generated recording.
5.5 Biometrics or Face ID / Touch ID
Biometric authentication may be used to unlock the private vault. We do not receive or store your biometric data. Biometric authentication is handled by your device operating system.
5.6 Screen Recording or Screen Capture
Screen recording or screen capture functionality is used only when initiated by you. Depending on the operating system, screen capture data is processed locally through platform-provided APIs such as Android MediaProjection or iOS ReplayKit/Broadcast Upload Extension.
5.7 Storage, Foreground Service, Wake Lock, and Media Access
On Android, storage/media permissions may be used on supported operating-system versions to read or save media files. Foreground service, media projection foreground service, microphone foreground service, and wake lock capabilities may be used to keep recording stable and visible while recording is in progress.
5.8 Network Access
Network access may be used for feedback submission, registration reporting, subscription reporting, opening legal links, opening subscription management, app store links, or other support-related online features.
5.9 Permission Controls
You may manage or revoke permissions through your device settings. Some features may not work properly if required permissions are disabled.
6. Third-Party Services and Platform Providers
We may use third-party service providers and platform services that are actually relevant to the App:
- Apple App Store / StoreKit for app distribution, subscriptions, receipts, refunds, and subscription management.
- Google Play Store / Google Play Billing for Android app distribution, subscriptions, purchase tokens, refunds, and subscription management where enabled.
- youjoylabs.com backend services for user feedback, registration reporting, and subscription reporting.
- Apple and Android system services including ReplayKit, AVFoundation, Photos, LocalAuthentication, MediaProjection, MediaStore, FileProvider, and system share sheets.
- Flutter and platform libraries used for camera preview, media selection, video playback, permissions, photo library access, biometric authentication, device information, connectivity detection, network requests, local storage, path access, sharing, URL launching, hashing, encryption, UUID generation, and SVG display.
Based on the current product analysis, the App does not integrate Firebase Analytics/Crashlytics, Google Mobile Ads/AdMob, Facebook SDK, AppsFlyer, Adjust, Sentry, Bugly, RevenueCat, AI APIs, cloud sync, or user account login services.
7. How We Use Information
We use information to:
- provide, operate, maintain, and improve recording, editing, merging, compression, conversion, export, vault, save, share, feedback, and subscription features;
- process, verify, restore, and manage subscriptions and in-app purchases;
- provide customer support and respond to inquiries;
- diagnose crashes, bugs, performance issues, subscription issues, and user-reported problems;
- maintain security, prevent abuse, and enforce our Terms;
- comply with legal obligations, platform rules, and app marketplace requirements.
8. Legal Bases for Processing
Where applicable data protection law requires a legal basis, we process personal data based on one or more of the following:
- Performance of a contract: to provide app functionality, subscriptions, support, and requested services.
- Consent: for optional permissions and optional features where consent is required.
- Legitimate interests: to maintain security, prevent fraud, troubleshoot problems, improve app reliability, and support our business, provided those interests are not overridden by your rights.
- Legal obligations: to comply with laws, tax, accounting, platform, consumer protection, refund, and regulatory requirements.
9. How We Share Information
We may share information only as described below:
- App marketplaces: Apple and Google process purchases, subscriptions, refunds, app distribution, and platform account-related information under their own terms and privacy policies.
- Service providers: limited information may be processed by backend, hosting, support, or platform providers that help us operate feedback, registration, subscription, and support functions.
- With your direction or consent: files may be shared only when you choose to use system sharing, export, save, feedback, or similar actions.
- Legal and safety reasons: we may disclose information if required by law, legal process, platform rules, or to protect rights, safety, security, and prevent fraud or abuse.
- Business transfers: if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, information may be transferred as part of that transaction.
10. International Data Transfers
We and our service providers may process information in countries or regions other than where you live. These countries may have data protection laws that differ from those in your jurisdiction. Where required by applicable law, we use appropriate safeguards for international transfers.
11. Data Retention
We retain information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law.
- Local app data remains on your device unless you delete it, clear app data, or uninstall the App.
- Recording, editing, cache, thumbnail, and temporary files remain locally until deleted by you, the App, or the operating system.
- Feedback emails or support records may be retained for customer service, dispute resolution, and legal record purposes.
- Subscription and purchase records may be retained as required for entitlement verification, accounting, tax, fraud prevention, platform compliance, and dispute handling.
- Server logs may be retained for security, reliability, and abuse prevention.
12. Security
We use reasonable technical, administrative, and organizational measures designed to protect information. Feedback requests may be transmitted over HTTPS and encrypted in the request body. Vault passwords are not stored in plain text. However, no method of transmission or storage is completely secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
You are responsible for keeping your device, operating system, app store account, device backup, vault password, and local files secure.
13. Your Choices and Controls
Depending on your device, platform, region, and the App features, you may:
- manage or revoke app permissions in your device settings;
- delete recordings, imported files, exports, cache, temporary files, and vault files where supported;
- clear cache inside the App where supported;
- manage subscriptions through Apple App Store or Google Play Store settings;
- restore purchases in the App where supported;
- disable notifications in your device settings;
- contact us to request access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, portability, or other privacy rights where applicable.
14. Regional Privacy Notice and Supplemental Rights
Users in the EEA, EU, United Kingdom, Switzerland, California, other U.S. states, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, Japan, South Korea, Singapore, Brazil, India, Thailand, Hong Kong, Taiwan, and other regions may have privacy rights under applicable local laws. These rights may include access, correction, deletion, restriction, objection, withdrawal of consent, portability, opt-out rights, appeal rights, and complaint rights.
You may submit a privacy request through the contact method in the "Contact Us" section. We may need to verify your request before responding. Because the App does not require account registration, we may ask for information sufficient to locate relevant records, such as support email history, app-generated identifier, transaction identifier, purchase receipt, device platform, or other information you voluntarily provide.
If a regional privacy law gives you greater rights than the general terms of this Privacy Policy, the applicable regional law will control for users protected by that law.
15. Children's Privacy and Age-Appropriate Design
Unless expressly stated in the App and supported by a dedicated child-specific privacy notice, the App is not directed to children under the age of 13, children under the age of 16, or the minimum age required by applicable local law.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parental consent where required. If you believe that a child has provided personal information to us, please contact us using the information below.
16. No User Account by Default
The App does not require users to create an in-app account by default. Subscriptions are managed through Apple App Store or Google Play Store and are associated with your Apple Account or Google Account, not an in-app account.
Because we may not have a direct user account record for you, certain data access or deletion requests may require you to provide information sufficient for us to locate relevant records.
17. Account and Data Deletion
If the App does not have an account system, you can delete local app data by deleting content inside the App where supported, clearing app data, or uninstalling the App. Subscription cancellation must be handled separately through Apple App Store or Google Play Store settings.
18. Third-Party Links and Services
The App may contain links to third-party websites, services, app stores, subscription management pages, support pages, or payment platforms. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of third parties. Please review their privacy policies before using their services.
19. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The updated version will be posted in the App, on our website, or through other appropriate channels. The "Last Updated" date indicates when this Privacy Policy was last revised.
